Before Family Concerts
Before family concerts, there are preconcert lectures that are given by Arie Lipsky. He gives explanations to what the pieces are about so that you can have a better understanding to what you are listening to. There are also family activities including making crafts at the Ann Arbor Hands on Museum, making crafts at the Exhibit Museum, playing with instruments, and listening to an ensemble from the Ann Arbor School of the Performing Arts. These activities are held a couple hours before the actual concert. After attending these activities, the children hopefully will try to listen to the music more and try to enjoy the music as well. |
